Jamie’s story
Some people will spend their whole lives searching for their place in the world, their calling.
I was lucky.
I discovered mine the day after I left school at 15.
15 years old, with zero qualifications and bored to the back teeth of an education system never meant for people like me, the moment I walked into my first warehouse job something just clicked. I felt like I’d arrived.
I’ve never left.
Sweeping the floors, picking, packing and doing all of the things a kid does in his first job, I began to learn that I could learn. I could work. That I had value. And that guess what? I was alright. The warehouse environment, the variety of roles, and the people there brought out the best in me. That mindset - recognising other people’s qualities and giving them a fair chance, because of attitude and drive, not O-Levels or GCSEs… It brought out the best in me. The better I became, the more I progressed. The more I progressed, the better I became.
Not just in business. In sport too. As a UEFA-qualified football coach, I apply those same progress principles to teamwork, to motivation and to helping everyone I train become the best possible version of themself. When we all get better, things get better. Seems like common sense to me.
As I’ve risen through the ranks from warehouse operative to manager, head of operations, COO, CEO, MD and now founder,I have sat in every operational seat those values, the hunger to inspire, and to see people fulfil their true potential, has been a golden thread that’s run through my whole career.
It’s called leadership.
In the context of supply chain and logistics, it’s leadership that’s experienced, empathetic and 100% focused on your success.
Honestly, there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing founders achieve their dreams - everything they’ve worked so hard for.
You’ve put your heart and soul into building a successful business and whatever your supply chain & operations challenges, I’ll guarantee, you’re only a few smart steps away from fixing them.
I’ll show you exactly what needs to be done.
It’s my job.
The best job in the world.
And while I’m here, let me tell you about my latest obsession. My commitment to inspiring a new generation of supply chain and logistics professionals.
I’m determined to make the immense career opportunities in supply chain much more visible. I want to make those opportunities accessible. And I want to make those 100% achievable. That’s my passion. To nurture talent.
So… if you know anyone who you think would benefit from a little guidance or mentoring, (as I would have, all those years ago 😀), just ask them if they’d like to take a closer look at the best job in the world.
If they say yes - send them my way.
